CARRBORO -- "The Richard Brown Show" is now airing at 8:30 a.m. Mondays on Carrboro's community radio station, WCOM, 103.5 FM.

The half-hour show focuses on issues facing the African-American community, including race, education, financial literacy and health care. Narratives from everyday North Carolinians will highlight the program.

The Community Reinvestment Association of North Carolina, which produces the show, is in talks to distribute it on urban and gospel radio stations statewide. Brown is a community organizer with the association. He gives presentations on predatory lending, shareholder advocacy and the Community Reinvestment Act.

The association is dedicated to building and protecting community wealth by changing institutions' philosophies and lending practices.
